On Monday, the FanDuel Group became the fourth gambling operator to launch an online sportsbook in Pennsylvania. The company which is best known for being a daily fantasy sports giant has in recent years ventured into the world of sports betting, a move that has seen it rise to the top in several markets. For instance, it is now the leading online sports betting platform in the neighboring state of New Jersey.

Needless to say, with such a good reputation in neighboring markets, the newly unveiled FanDuel online sportsbook is definitely bound to shake things up quite a bit in the Keystone State’s online sports betting market which is just a little over two months old at this point. This is mainly because the daily fantasy sports provider is already quite comfortable with operating in the online space which implies that it should be able to easily navigate its way in the new market.

“We’re leveraging our expertise in creating world-class fantasy and sports betting experiences to build the best online sports betting platform in the state of Pennsylvania. We became the number one sports betting operator in New Jersey by focusing on the customer experience and we can’t wait for sports fans in Pennsylvania to join the party,” said Mike Raffensperger, CMO of FanDuel Group.

The online sportsbook will be operated in partnership with Boyd Gaming and Valley Forge Casino Resort. Coming in after the launch of the SugarHouse, BetRivers and Parx online sportsbooks launches, the FanDuel sportsbook already has an upper hand that may tip the scale in its favor, that is, it is the only online sportsbook that currently has a standalone iOS app at the moment.

To further better its chances in the new market, FanDuel Sportsbook is also set to launch an omnichannel marketing campaign in a bid to promote its launch. This marketing campaign will feature influencer marketing, sports talk radio partnerships, digital media and even out of home advertising among other things.

What to Expect

Already, the FanDuel sportsbook has a lot to offer on both its app and online platform. Some of the most notable features include money lines, point spreads, parlays, prop bets, round robins, teasers as well as in-game wagering options.

Furthermore, the sports betting operator has also managed to satisfactorily cover most of the basic aspects that players will be looking out for when signing up on the gambling platform. These include such things as the range of banking options, promotions, and bonuses, live betting features and security. This is definitely a good start.
