B2B online gambling software and services provider GAN has recently announced that it will be extending its partnership with FanDuel Group by making “material additions” to the services it provides as the two companies prepare for the launch of the Keystone State’s online gambling market. The heavily anticipated launch of online gambling has been a major focus for a number of gambling operators and from the look of everything, each and every interested party intends to bring its A-game into the very competitive gaming market. GAN and FanDuel are just among the companies that are hoping to get a piece of that lucrative market in one way or the other.
GAN and the FanDuel Group, which is the United States brand of renowned international gambling operator Flutter Entertainment Plc. (formerly known as Paddy Power Betfair), first announced that they would be partnering up way back in 2013. This partnership was geared towards a digital launch in the state of New Jersey – online gambling, unfortunately, only became legal in the state in 2018. Still, considering how lucrative that particular market turned out to be, it was definitely worth the wait.
To keep their plans going, GAN and FanDuel in January 2019 announced that they would be building on their initial 2013 partnership with an extended five-year contract. This extended contract stipulates that GAN would become FanDuel’s provider for “rapid deployment of Internet casino, and account services for Internet sports betting in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.”
Needless to say, the expanded partnership between the two companies presents a huge opportunity for them to deliver on their growth strategies in the United States. In addition to that, it certainly presents newer and more promising revenue opportunities.
“The launch of an Internet casino service for another casino in Pennsylvania represents a material incremental revenue opportunity for GAN,” Dermot Smurfit, CEO of GAN, commented.
All things considered, there has never been a better time for them to pursue these interests than now. GAN has already ensured it has a future in Pennsylvania’s online gambling market by partnering with Parx Casino.
FanDuel’s Future in Pa. Sports Betting
It has been barely three months since FanDuel was approved for sports betting in the Keystone State and now that it has an extended partnership with GAN, its partnership with Boyd Gaming’s Valley Forge Casinos Resort, the sky seems to be the limit for its operation in the state.
Online sports betting in the state officially took off at the end of May 2019 and so far, everything looks very promising. Case in point, within the roughly three-day test phase, the first online/mobile sportsbook brought in a whopping $570,000. Clearly, there is a lot to look forward to.
