Poker vlogging has been on the rise for the past couple of years and with more and more industry pros jumping on the bandwagon, it is only going to get better. Johnnie “JohnnieVibes” Moreno, is one of the poker pros who has had quite a successful stint at poker vlogging. The star poker grinder launched his YouTube channel in 2017 and just a year and a half later, it boasts of 25,000 subscribers – a very impressive fete especially considering that the channel is all about poker.

The allure of the game of poker combined with JohnnieVibes’ head-turning bio that reads “Cash game pro for the last 10 years based out of Vegas and San Diego. My primary game is $5/10NLHE but I have dabbled up to $25/50/100NLHE. I travel often, produce music and videos, and generate content for my brand DeepVibes” make the channel literally irresistible to anyone who has even an ounce of interest in the poker game.

The Challenges

Recently Johnnie Moreno embarked on a special challenge that he referred to as the #EmbraceTheGrind Challenge. As its name suggests, the challenge would involve “30 Days in a row of grinding mid-stakes No limit Hold-em poker” where he would put his 12 years of professional poker experience “to the test as I set out on a goal to grind 150 hours while capturing the day to day emotion of life on the grind.”

There was a total of five episodes with the first being an introductory one where he laid out every detail about the challenge. In the final episode, the poker pro wrapped up the challenge and recapped the journey and discussed some of his thoughts on the amount he thinks a poker grinder playing at the $5 big blind stakes in stands to make if they triumph at the game.

The Outcomes

In a recent interview, Moreno discussed some of the highlights of the challenge with one of the most notable being losing a whopping $4.2K just four days into the challenge. Moreover, he also explained how challenging it was to be creative along the way especially because his YouTube channel leans more towards reality television which means that he strived to ensure that everything was laid out chronologically.

Even so, he admitted that he was indeed satisfied by the outcomes of the challenge. Some of his best moments during the challenge was having fans reach out and say that they were inspired by what he was doing. That said, it should not be long before he treats his YouTube subscribers with yet another challenge. This is definitely something worth looking forward to.
