Last Friday, Nordic online gambling operator Kindred Group followed up its New Jersey debut by launching its second sportsbook in the Keystone State. The company’s Unibet branded sportsbook officially went live in Pennsylvania through a multi-year partnership with Mohegan Sun Pocono which is owned and operated by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, Mohegan Tribe’s casino resort business.
While patrons can already access the facility’s sports betting services, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the launch of the sportsbook has been scheduled for Saturday, October 5 on 11 a.m. Among the attendees are several senior leaders, project partners, local dignitaries as well as officials from the casino’s parent company.
What to Expect
As per the terms of the multi-year agreement between Kindred and Mohegan Sun Pocono, the former will be tasked with managing both the casino’s retail and digital sports betting operations. This means that sports bettors in the state will have access to all of Unibet’s amazing software services.
This sportsbook is 1,130-square-feet long and it will be open every day from 11.00 a.m. to midnight. During its open hours, its customers will be able to place bets on a wide range of sporting activities including those from the NFL, NBA, NHL, PGC, NCAA, professional tennis, boxing, UFC, rugby, NASCAR, MLS, Premier League Soccer, La Liga and Bundesliga.
The lounge which is located on the right side of Mohegan Sun Pocono’s main entrance near the valet is also able to accommodate over 40 guests. To cater to the guests, there are a total of six sports betting terminals, two teller booths, one racebook betting terminal, as well as walk-up food and beverage bar. Moreover, at the center of the room sit 28-foot wide video wall that features a ticker at the top to show both current scores and upcoming games.
Digital Betting Coming Soon
A short while before launching the retail sportsbook in Pennsylvania, Kindred launched a Unibet-branded online sports betting operation in New Jersey where it also has a retail sportsbook. Naturally, following the launch of the retail sportsbook in Pennsylvania, a digital sports betting option should follow soon.
Fortunately, Kindred has confirmed that it indeed has plans to launch a digital sports betting option as well as an online casino in the near future. These digital betting options are also set to include services that are tailored for both iOS and Android-powered mobile devices.
Pennsylvania’s gambling industry continues to grow rapidly and with more operators gaining interest in the market, there is certainly a lot that is in store. Gaming revenue is definitely going to increase and since there is a decent number of competing business, customers will be treated to multiple great gambling options.
