The Malta Poker Festival’s inaugural run went very well last year, so much that the company went ahead to announced its return to the Portomaso Casino this time from October 30 to November 4. However, due to player demand for the now very popular gaming event, the organizers of the festival could not wait until late October to finally run the second season. As such, they have since decided to launch a totally new and fresh concept with the Cash Game Festival and the Malta Poker Championship and this will run as from May 13 through to May 19.
Ivonne Montealegre, the Malta Poker Festival and Malta Poker Championships Founder and Event Director, has expressed a lot of excitement about the team up with the Cash Game Festival. As it turns out, she has been waiting to partners with the Cash Games Festival, the original brand, for close to ten years.
“This year in 2019 sees the perfect timing for us to come together and bring the best of both teams. With our inaugural version of Malta Poker Championships, we found in the Cash Game Festival the perfect match. Cash games action for the initial days and then slowly merging with a series of Championships, all live streamed,” she stated.
According to Montealegre, the partnership brings together the two most compatible gaming companies in the industry. The Portomaso Casino, for instance, offers all of the expertise, staff, and infrastructure that complement the Cash Game Festival by providing all of the concepts and logistics required for smooth and successful operation.
The Highlights
The Cash Games Festival usually streams televised feature tables multiple times each day of the festival – this time, players can expect to be treated to a pleasant surprise so long as they will be playing at the Cash Game Festival or the final tables of the Malta Poker Championships. The idea is to give poker players from all over the world the opportunity to learn from the games at the festival. The final tables of the Cash Games and Championships which will also be streamed will be played at Club Level 22.
Players can also look forward to some classic events where the organizers will be taking them “back to the basics”. This will include a freezeout championship event which will be the very first one in a very long while. Another one of these events that players should look forward to is the Betsson One Bullet – this is a No Limit Texas Hold’em Championship with one-hour levels and one entry per player.
In addition to all that, fans of short deck poker will also be treated to a short deck tournament. It is no surprise that this is the case since the format is becoming increasingly popular with other behemoth poker operators like PartyPoker and 888Poker going out of their way to launch their own variation of the game.
