- Pennsylvania will see two more events by PokerStars before the year is out, with the Blowout Series getting underway today and Pennsyl-MANIA on December 27
- $500,000 in guaranteed events are available for both events marking the end of the year
- PokerStars is still hesitant to link up liquidity across state lines, expecting a final ruling in the Wire Act which the DoJ tried to revise recently
PokerStars is back in Pennsylvania with another great round that will commemorate the end-of-year poker action in the Keystone State. Still the only interactive poker license in the state, PokerStars is making a good use of its time offering players in Pennsylvania one last Blowout Series before the year is out.
PokerStars PA has been delivering on some exquisite events these past few years, making for a worthwhile and exciting overall experience, even though it can definitely do a little better, by sharing liquidity between New Jersey and Pennsylvania for one. That is an even more valid point now that PokerStars had a strong financial year in the state.
However, fears about the Department of Justice’s interpretation of the Wire Act are still lingering. Most of these fears ought to disappear under a Joe Biden’s presidency, though, giving poker buffs in the state and across the United States high hopes.
A Bunch of PokerStars Events
Today, PokerStars PA is kicking off the Blowout Series, with 56 tournaments which will run through end of next week, December 20, and over $500,000 in guaranteed prizes. The buy-ins will be quite acceptable to online poker players, ranging from $5 to $1,000 in entry fees.
The games you can choose from starting today including No Limit and Pot Limit Omaha, Horse, 5-Card PLO, and others. There will be a whole lot of progressive knockout events to add to the excitement of the event, and players will get an estimated $1,500 in Turbo Week tickets for an additional incentive to join in.
More Events on the Menu
Thankfully, PokerStars PA is going to run with another event as well. Pennsyl-MANIA is coming back this December 27 and there are another $500,000 in guaranteed prize money to benefit from. You can deposit using the MANIA bonus code for the Pennsyl-MANIA 3 Depositor Freeroll on December 27.
PokerStars’ is still looking to expand into new states in the USA. One particularly good market could be Michigan which can expect the arrival of poker in early 2021. Michigan will see a ton of operators, but PokerStars seems not to be on the list, nor is any other big representative present.
Partypoker and PokerStars will be the biggest platforms to see in the state, albeit they have no license as of now and we will probably have to wait until Q1 or Q2 2021
