Earlier this week, Rivers Casino which was the first legal sportsbook in Pittsburgh launched their mobile betting platform. Now, the residents from all parts of the Keystone State will be able to access its lucrative online gambling offerings. In addition to that, the casino operator also announced that their temporary sportsbook will be undergoing some renovation – this is set to cost a whopping $5 million with the goal being the creation of a permanent sports betting lounge.
The permanent sports betting lounge is expected to open at the location where the Levels Lounge was and this launch date is set to be just in time for the NFL season. It will be a 5,500-square-foot space with a capacity of up to 200 guests. In addition to that, the lounge will also feature a variety of television screens where players can watch games from all around the world. Moreover, there will be a total of six betting windows with ticket writes as well as about twenty self-service kiosks off to the sides of the space.
For online and mobile sports betting enthusiasts, the operator’s offerings can now be accessed on BetRivers.com or an app that is currently available for Android phones. Unfortunately, due to recent App Store policy changes, there have been some setbacks and therefore iPhone users who prefer gambling apps over the browser-based version of the site will have to wait a few months as the company sorts that out.
Just like other online sports betting operators in the state, Rivers Casino went through a test launch before it was finally approved for a full launch by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
Parx Rolls Outs Sports Betting App
A while back, we highlighted that renowned Pennsylvania gaming operator Parx Casino had officially unveiled its mobile and online sports betting services. Just like in the case of Rivers Casino, the Parx online sports betting launch was a test run that was overseen by the state’s gaming control board. Unsurprisingly, the online sports betting operating was given the green light to go full swing with its offerings after the three-day test period came to an end. Clearly, the casino had put a lot of effort into its preparation for the state’s online gambling market.
Now, the casino operator has its sights set on the online casino and online poker sectors which are set to go live in the coming weeks. Parx’s new online casino is expected to be just as competitive as its sports betting offerings since the company has been working very hard to ensure that it remains at the top of the list of leading gaming operators in Pennsylvania.
