It is almost hard to believe that the World Poker Tour is now in the midst of their Season XVII schedule. Wow! Well, everything about the poker series is about to get even more exciting than it already is with the final few events preparing to wrap up ahead of the 2019 World Poker Tour (WPT) Tournaments of Champions. The broadcast of the prior World Poker Tour events which make up the seventeenth season if the will begin on Sunday over the FOX Sports Regional Networks.

As expected, the event will be packing a lot of star-power including Vince Van Patten and Tony Dunst who will be back in the broadcast chairs for the second season in a row. Both of them will take the commentators will take the viewers through seven of the tournaments of Season XVII tournaments. The series of events will run for 24 episodes where the players will be treated to familiar territories such as the Commerce Casino as well as a venture to the inaugural stop in South America in Uruguay.

“The World Poker Tour is proud to present a new season of world-class poker and production. In our 17th season on the air, the World Poker Tour is one of the longest-running shows ever produced and is, once again, the number-one regularly scheduled program on FOX Sports Regional Networks. Season XVII sends the World Poker Tour to stunning global destinations and further establishes HyperX Esports Arena as the new televised global home of the WPT television show,” Adam Pliska, the Chief Executive Officer of the WPT, said.

The World Poker Tournament is still considered to be one of the best broadcasters of poker tournaments on the world. This can be attributed to collaboration with Phil Hellmuth who handles the “Raw Deal” segments and Lynn Gilmartin, an anchor on the show.

What to Expect

According to Johnny McMahon, the Vice President of the WPT Studios, the fans of the World Poker Tour television can now expect “production value like never before in Season XVII”. Quite a few changes have been made for season XVII – for instance, the series postponed final tables to allow them to be filmed at the HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas. These postponed final tables have been met with an equal measure of excitement and criticism.

The new episodes of the World Poker Tour are set to appear on Sundays on the individual FOX Sports Regional Networks with the times set for between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
