Penn National Inks New Partnership Deals for Pa. Gambling

Pennsylvania’s online gambling and sports betting plans are beginning to pick up quite well thanks to a ton of new developments including the approval of a number of interactive gaming and sports betting licenses. Now, the various operators are beginning to prepare for the forthcoming gambling market and if things go as planned, the residents of the Commonwealth will be able to access legal online gambling and sports betting products sometime within the first quarter of next year.

Taking the Leap With IGT

As the launch of the state’s online gambling industry draws in, Hollywood Casino operator, Penn National Gaming has announced that it will be partnering with IGT for online gambling in the Keystone State. The five-year partnership deal will see Penn National’s HollywoodCasino.com deploy a full range of suite of IGT’s PlayCommand products including PlayBingo, PlayCasino, and PlayPoker.

“We’re excited to leverage IGT’s platform and content for our online gaming launch in Pennsylvania. The flexibility and reliability of the PlayCommand platform, coupled with the proven game library within IGT’s PlayCasino, give us confidence that HollywoodCasino.com will deliver the same caliber of world-class gaming entertainment that our players have come to love in our land-based casinos,” Chris Sheffield, the Penn National executive said about the partnership.

Unfortunately, sports betting was not mentioned in the partnership deal. Still, it is a great partnership since IGT, which is just making its debut into the United States online gambling market with the Hollywood Casino deal, is already a behemoth in the global online gambling scene. IGT already has partnerships with a number of other platforms including PokerStars with whom it has been providing with online slot games as well as a real-money casino platform.

NetEnt Is Also in the Mix

Swedish online gaming company, NetEnt, has also recently signed its first customer agreement in the Keystone State ahead of the launch of the Keystone State’s much-anticipated online gambling market. As per the terms of the partnership, NetEnt will be responsible for delivering a mix of table games, video slots as well as jackpot slots to Hollywood Casino.

“This deal marks NetEnt’s first customer signing for Pennsylvania and is an important step in our growth strategy in North America,” said Erik Nyman, managing director NetEnt Americas. “I look forward to our collaboration with Penn National and believe that our entertaining online games will be much appreciated by players in Pennsylvania.”

NetEnt has always had plans to enter the Pennsylvania gaming market which makes it not much of a surprise that it followed through with those plans this soon. Still, it is a huge milestone for the state as well as the casino operator, and its new partners as they try to make the best of the opportunity that the statewide gambling expansion plans in Pennsylvania have to offer.
